Biography

Ms. Gittings is the winner of the 2008 San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Craig Noel Award for Outstanding Costumes (Scrooge in Rouge, Diversionary Theatre). In 2007, she received the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Theatre Award for Best Costumes (Intimate Apparel, San Diego REP), as well as the Patté Award for Theater Excellence in Outstanding Costume Design (Don Quixote, San Diego REP; Bunbury, Diversionary Theatre).

Regionally, she has designed costumes for The Old Globe Theatre, the La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego REPertory Theatre, Crossroads Theatre Company, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, The Lycian Centre, The Luna Stage, The Western Stage, and A Noise Within, where her work received nominations for Backstage's Garland Award, and the LA Ticketholder Award.

She has also designed for many universities and colleges, including Princeton University, Rutgers Opera Company, NYU Film, Las Positas College, Highline College, and the Thurgood Marshall School at UCSD.

She lives in San Diego, where she is the Resident Costume Designer and Design Ambassador for MOXIE Theatre, and an Associate Artist at Diversionary Theatre.

Ms. Gittings holds an MFA in both Costume Design and Scenic Design from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and a BA in Theatre Arts from UCLA.
